Confession released in radio newsman's killing

NEW YORK

The confession of John Katehis was introduced during an evidence hearing, prior to his trial, which is about to begin.

Katehis was seen laughing in the video.

In the 40-minute confession, Katehis describes to detectives how he met WABC radio reporter George Weber, who Katehis claims put an adult ad on CraigsList.

"He sent like two pictures. One was like smothering his face," Katehis says on the video.

"Those were actually pictures of him?" asks the detective.

"Yeah, of him, but like doing, I guess, what he wanted," the suspect responds.

Katehis and Weber reportedly met at Weber's Carrol Gardens apartment, where Katehis says Weber wanted him to tie him up with duct tape.

But suddenly, Katehis claims Weber pulled a knife.

"We're just grabbing over this knife, and we're just pulling towards each other," Katehis said. "And the knife just goes and just jabs him in his neck." p> Police charge that Katahis then stabbed Weber more than 50 times.

Katahis then says he went looking for money.

Katahis is facing charges of second-degree murder.
