A day after protests over a bike lane along Prospect Park West, the NYPD is launching a crackdown on cyclists who break the law.

Many pedestrians complain that bike riders are running red lights and riding the wrong way in lanes, causing collisions.

According to the New York Times, 26,000 moving violations were issued to cyclists this year.

In comparison, 800,000 violations were issued to motor vehicles.
