The 40-year-old woman found in the attic of the home on Morningstar Road.
The blaze broke out in the attic just after 6:30 a.m. and quickly spread through the two family home.
Other residents were safely evacuated.
When firefighters put out the flames, they discovered the woman.
She was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
