Heart valves delivered to Home Depot?

It was clearly the wrong kind of plumbing fixtures delivered to this East Side Home Depot.

A courier delivered the package to the Third Avenue store on Friday.

Eyewitness News learned the box containing body parts - heart valves destined for a hospital in Chicago.

"I think it's crazy. They should look at their packages before they deliver them," Bryan Beltrez said.

Employees are dumbfounded as to how a delivery ended up this far from where it was intended.

The NYPD will only say they answered a non-emergency call here. Investigators won't say if they took the box or anything else.

There was hardly any commotion.

"I was in the returns department all day today and it's just crazy to me that something like that would happen here," employee Stephanie Martinez said. "I didn't see anything suspicious or out of the ordinary."

No one opened the box, we've learned. No one at the courier company is opening up about the mix-up. Several calls were not returned.

Home Depot officials didn't want to go on the record either.
