Pregnant woman, man killed outside NJ grocery store

IRVINGTON

Authorities say a man and a pregnant woman were shot as they got out of a car in front of a grocery store on Myrtle Street in Irvington just before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman, identified as 25-year-old Saleenah Baines, died at the scene. Laquan Woods, who would have turned 25 Wednesday, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

It is believed an unknown person drove up and shot them on the sidewalk.

Authorities are investigating the possibility that they may have been targeted.

No arrests have been made at this point.
