Long Island man gives Florida theft victim $1,000

BABYLON, NY

Kerry Ann Brown waited for more than 24 hours outside a Best Buy in West Palm Beach, Florida for Black Friday.

After shopping, she loaded up her car and went to another store.

When she came back her car had been broken into and the gifts were gone.

After hearing the woman's story, Alan Howard, the owner of Plesser's Appliances in Babylon, promised to replace up to $1,000 worth of the stolen merchandise.

Brown told Howard by phone, "I'm awe-struck, thank you. I didn't know people were like that out there in the world but thank you so very much!"

Kerry Ann plans to replace three computers she bought for several relatives in Jamaica.

The thief has not been caught.
