Police have arrested a suspect in a string of muggings on the Upper East Side.

Police say 55-year-old Tyrone Hunter was arrested in connection with five robberies that occurred during Thanksgiving week.

Hunter has been in and out of jail for the last 40 years, serving time for rape, burglary and robbery.

Hunter was most recently released in October after serving 24 years on a burglary conviction.

He was arrested after police released surveillance video of him following the most recent attack on East 78th Street.

Hunter was picked out of a lineup by at least one of his victims.
