Hanukkah begins!

December 2, 2010 5:19:59 AM PST
Wednesday marked the first night of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

The first candle was lit on the world's largest menorah in Midtown Manhattan.

They needed a cherry picker to reach the 32-foot-tall, two-ton candelabra.

There was also food and dancing at the Grand Army Plaza on Fifth Avenue and 59th Street.

The festival of lights is celebrated for eight days.
