Police search for suspects in gas station shooting

BAYONNE, New Jersey

The gunmen opened fire Sunday night during a robbery in Bayonne, New Jersey.

The robbery and shooting took place at this Exxon station along route 440.

Bayonne police rolled up to the scene of the shooting to find the 37-year-old station attendant shot once in the chest.

The victim staggered over to small convenience store for help.

In the video you can see a burgundy late model compact car that pulled up to the attendant's booth. One man quickly gets out of the back seat on the drivers side and points a handgun at the attendant.

A second man comes from the passenger side carrying what looks like a shotgun or rifle and appears to attack the attendant with the butt of the gun.

The attendant then comes out of the booth. The two suspects quickly step back and the one with the handgun appears to then fire his weapon, hitting the attendant in the chest.

At one point in the midst of the robbery, a white car pulls to the right of the booth. The driver apparently sees what is happening and quickly speeds away.

Bayonne police are extremely interested in finding that person.
