Kids hurt when bus hits median on GSP

WOODCLIFF LAKE

The bus, carrying 13 students, careened onto the grass median near milemarker 169 just before 7:30 a.m.

State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones says the bus was carrying students from Rockland County to the Frisch School in Paramus when the driver told troopers she lost control.

Seven children on the bus sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospitals for evaluations as a precaution. The driver was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The bus was towed away so state police could inspect it and all lanes reopened to traffic by 9 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Frisch School promotes the values and study of Jewish heritage.
