Yorktown Heights auto body shop goes up in flames

Five people were injured when fire broke out at a Yorktown Heights auto shop and spread to attached apartments.

The shop, Jefferson Valley Collision, caught fire just after 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Flames and smoke shot out of the structure.

Residents living in attached apartments fled the flames.

Two people, a man and a woman, were taken to Westchester Medical Center with burns.

Three others, possibly fire fighters, were taken to Hudson Valley Hospital Center withy smoke inhalation.

East Main Street was closed at Route 6N as firefighters battled the blaze.
