4 arrests in CT gas station shootings

NORWALK, CT

A gas station attendant was shot in the head during a robbery.

Jose Joaquin Morales was gunned down last October at a Shell Gas Station in Norwalk.

It was a particularly brutal crime since the victim had already handed over the cash.

Then a month later, a Mobil Gas Station was robbed in Greenwich.

The attendant there was also shot in the head despite offering no resistance.

That victim did survive.

Police linked the two cases and Wednesday announced the arrests of four suspects.

Prosecutors say 22-year-old Alain LeConte is the gunman in both robberies and is the person seen in the surveillance video.

Police have charged him and 24-year-old Mustafa Jacobs with the Norwalk murder.

As it turns out, both men are currently in prison on unrelated charges.

37-year-old David Wash and 23-year-old Taran Nelson were charged for their alleged roles in the Greenwich robbery.

It was a long and frustrating wait for relatives of the hard working Guatemalan immigrant who had spoken of quitting his job because of the risks involved.
