Suffolk County police arrested 28-year-old Alicia Tysz after she was driving the wrong way on Route 25 in Middle Island.
Officer Valerie D'Alessio was driving in the westbound lane of Route 25 at approximately 2 a.m. when she noticed Tysz driving her 2001 Honda westbound in the eastbound lane.
When D'Alessio attempted to stop the Honda, Tysz pulled her vehicle onto the shoulder of the westbound lane and continued to travel approximately 1/4 mile before stopping near Woodville Road.
Police say Tysz, of Ridge, was driving while impaired by a combination of prescription drugs and alcohol. She was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and was issued citations for driving the wrong way and crossing a double yellow line.
