Sanitation worker killed in accident

CASTLE HILL

A single candle burned for Angel Roldan Tuesday night at the Sanitation garage where he worked.

He was a father, husband, and a wonderful friend.

"He was awesome, good-hearted guy, he always came to work happy, you know he had a lot of love," said the victim's friend.

Police photographed and measured the scene.

It's not a crime scene, but it is so tragic.

It is so numbingly tragic that it has men who call themselves the strongest, fighting back tears.

"Just crossing the street one minute, maybe to get a cup of coffee, and he's not here no more. He's a guy you talk to everyday, you don't expect these things when they hit close to home, it's sad, it's sad," the victim's coworker.

Angel Roldan was 39 years old. He was a husband and father of two children.

He worked for Sanitation for 11 years.

Tuesday afternoon, he stepped out between two parked cars, in front of the garage where he worked and was struck and killed by a car.

"He was happy all the time, friendly guy, would do anything for anybody," said another coworker.

No charges are expected against the driver.
