Workout and eat whatever you want!

NEW YORK

"For me, this is my job, healthy and beautiful," David Barton said.

Barton is all about getting people to look and feel better.

His gyms have a sultry feel.

You're invited to workout for free on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

"Eat, drink, be merry, workout," Barton said.

Perhaps take the trim class.

It's a strength training class that David says puts your body in a hormonal state where you're less likely to store fat.

In other words, "You can eat guilt free," Barton said.

But the key is to do this class before you eat that big meal.

Not after the meal.

Doing it first paves the way for less fat storage.

The weight isn't light, and that's as important as timing.

"Ideally two hours before you eat, a little exercise voodoo for you," Barton said.

If you can't make the class, David says work out the big muscles.

Try bent rows, one bar alone weighed 45 pounds.

You can use that same bar for squats.

"This is for the butt, thigh, every muscle below the waist," Barton said.

And you'll feel them almost instantly.

As you will also with the lunges.

David uses weights.

You should continue to do reps until you can't do anymore.

As a last pre-emptive strike on the holiday gorging, try the chest press. But seriously, don't wait until after the New Year to get into the gym, do it before.
