Car strikes taxi while transporting stabbing victims

One stabbing victim dies
HEMPSTEAD, New York

One of the stabbing victims has died. The other victim remains in critical condition.

The men, in their 20s, were stabbed at an unknown location sometime before 3 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

They were being driven to the hospital by a friend when he lost control of his car at the intersection of Fulton Avenue and Clinton Street.

The car careened into a taxi, and a pedestrian was struck into the ensuing spinout.

The two passengers had to be extricated from the taxi. They were taken to Nassau University Medical Center.

The pedestrian, also a man in his 20s, was taken to Mercy Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Detectives were interviewing the driver of the car to determine the location of the initial double stabbing.

No arrests were immediately made.
