Researchers look at bacteria on restaurant tables

NEW YORK

Researchers swabbed all of these objects at 12 restaurants in three states, including New York.

The sugar container had the lowest bacteria count.

The highest count belonged to the menu, which had an average of 185,000 bacteria.

Experts say it makes sense, because it gets handled the most, but researchers say most of the bacteria is not harmful.

They advise, however, washing your hands after reading the menu.
