A young boy from the Bronx who was critically injured in a hit and run is now home from the hospital in time for the new year.

Joshua Sanders, 5, was struck by an SUV in August while playing baseball outside his Williamsbridge home.

For a while, doctors thought he wouldn't make it.

But he's recovered so well that he was released from the hospital Thursday and showered with gifts, including a new bike.

Police never found the driver who hit him.
