70-year-old Bronx woman stabbed to death

BRONX

Residents of Ethal Parish's apartment building in the Bronx are shocked and saddened by her murder.

"It's unbelievable that someone would want to hurt her," a neighbor said.

Ethal was one of the buildings better known tenants, she had lived there for 20 years.

The 70-year-old was found stabbed multiple times in the back in her apartment.

Her son found her body inside her kitchen on Wednesday afternoon.

"She's like family to all of us in this building," said Anna Marrow, the building's resident.

Police searched Parish's apartment for evidence late into the evening on Wednesday.

Police have not yet made an arrest and they haven't named a suspect.

Until residents get more answers, they are naturally concerned about their safety in the building.

"Very dangerous, shouldn't be like that there should be more protection," said Ramon Rodriguez, a building resident.
