A home invasion on Long Island forced the brief lockdown of a nearby elementary school today.

Two men burst into a home on Union Avenue in Eastport this morning.

Investigators say the suspects tied up two people and then fled with computer equipment and jewelry.

Police say they were called about 9:40 a.m.

Once police learned what happened, Eastport Elementary School was placed under modified locked down.

It's located about a half mile away.

During the subsequent lockdown at the school, students were allowed to move around the building. But no one was allowed in or out for hours.

Eastport School District officials said police lifted the lockdown at about 2 p.m. So far there are no arrests.
