Website helps brides get designer gowns for less

NEW YORK

The dress is often one of the biggest purchases when it comes to getting married and now there's a website that sells some of the best designers but for far less than you'd find in stores.

Shara Levy came up with an idea for selling bridal gowns on line and teamed with David Yassky, a stylist and journalist who's written about bridal gowns for magazines. Their union has produced TheAisleNewYork.com.

"People buy cars online homes online and we didn't want brides to be excluded from that," David Yassky said.

And on their site brides don't just buy gowns, they buy gowns that are deeply discounted. The designers they work with like Monique Lullhier, and Lela Rose to name a few offer up dresses that were shown in past seasons but are still completely current.

There's a new sale each week, with a number of designers featured and, each sale lasts for seven days. It's sort of like a sample sale, but without the mobs of people. The site also sells accessories, jewelry and shoes, most of which are not discounted, because these items are in season.

Sure, buying a gown on line for your big day isn't like buying at a salon but for some brides. It's an easier way of making it down the aisle.
