Proposed child labor law changes could hit Broadway

There are proposed changes to New York's child labor laws which could mean major headaches for Broadway shows.

The Department of Labor wants to limit the number of hours and times performers under 18 years old can work.

The most critical revision: restricting children from starting work before 5 a.m. and ending later than 10 p.m. on any night before a school day.

To get around these rules, show producers could apply for a variance.

A public hearing is slated for January 31.
