Firefighter rescues boy, 12, from burning home

QUEENS

The boy was pulled from the home on 202nd Street just before 6:30 a.m. The firefighter who found him rushed into the burning building before firefighters were able to get water on the blaze.

The firefighter made his way to the kitchen, where he found the boy on the floor. The child was conscious but disoriented by the fire and smoke.

The firefighter scooped up the child and brought him out of the house. The boy was treated outside before being taken to Jacobi Medical Center.

The firefighter, assigned to Engine 320, was being treated at Jacobi Medical Center.

No other residents were injured, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Three firefighters were treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
