Marietta Capizzi was surrounded by family and friends as she celebrated her 110th birthday on Saturday at the Sunrise Senior Living Center in Glen Cove.
Marietta lived in her own home in Valley Stream up until 5 years ago.
She was born and raised in Italy but moved to New York when she was 18 and became a seamstress.
When asked her secret to such a long life, Marietta said, "My secret is that God's keeping me healthy until I die."
Marietta and her husband Frank were married for 73 years before Frank died at the age of 99.
Together, they had two children.
