New York City schools are reportedly having a difficult time collecting lunch money from parents.

According to the New York Times, at least $42 million has gone unpaid since 2004.

City schools were already $2.5 million behind just three months into this academic year.

The Department of Education is now pushing school administrators to collect the debts.
