Experts on Long Island say a newborn seal found on beach has a respiratory infection.

The 3-feet-long and 35-pound gray pup still had its umbilical cord attached when it was found on a beach at Montauk State Park on February 12.

Robert DiGiovanni, of the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation, says the seal is receiving antibiotics and ground fish through a feeding tube.
