Hundreds rally against gun violence in NYC

MANHATTAN

Demonstrators marched from the United Nations to Times Square Sunday afternoon.

It was led by Reverend Al Sharpton and New York State Senators Malcolm Smith and Neil Breslin.

They called for a community in crisis to rise up and take back their streets by promoting non-violence and a renewed crack down on illegal guns.

The march and rally were organized by "Operation Snug"; a statewide anti-gun violence initiative designed to reduce shootings and killings in communities across New York with disproportionately high rates of gun violence.
