Getting in style for spring

The spring fashions have arrived and one of the biggest trends that women will want in their closets this season is a look that literally takes you back - to the 70's.

Some of these newly hot trends include floppy hats, the oversized clutch, wedge heels, peasant tops and wide leg pants.

This spring's return to the 70's will also include color blocking, which will be a must. Vibrant colors are the way to go to capture the season's look. You must be willing to mix colors you would have never mixed before.

One example of how to mix unexpected hues is the coral and purple combination. You can't go wrong with this mix.

Bloomingdales' fashion director, Susan Marasco, gave a few more examples of combinations that will be hot this spring.

"Royal blue with rust color. Rust is also important again in the coral family, but a little bit deeper" Marasco said.

On the complete opposite side of the color spectrum, another hot trend for spring will be white.

"It is such a great non-color," Marasco said.

She feels that white is the new black, but you must add a dash of color with it.

"Don't be afraid of white this season. It's everywhere, and it makes everyone look good," Marasco said.

One major difference from last season, the fashion director says, are multiple colors opposed to one or two colors at a time.

"Last season we saw navy and white or red and white stripes. Now, it's multi-colored within one silhouette," Marasco said.

In just a few weeks we will also see a rise in prints, mainly floral prints. Whether you pick large or small, you can't go wrong.

There will be a good amount of leeway with this spring's trends, but one thing you must not do, according to Marasco, is over accessorize.

"Do not use a printed scarf or handbag with your printed outfit," Marasco said.

These are all the tips, to help you be in style this spring.
