A four-alarm fire burned through several buildings in Ocean Grove Friday morning.

The blaze burned down a building on Atlantic Avenue that is believed to be vacant and under renovation.

The fire spread to several other buildings, believed to be homes.

The fire, which broke out just after 5 a.m., was fueled by wicked winds that spread blowing embers.

Ocean Grove is a Jersey Shore community in Neptune.

Nine houses burned down and six others were damaged. Seven families were left homeless.

A firefighter from Wall was hospitalized after a wall collapsed onto him. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
