Overnight bodega robbery could be linked to 7 others

BRONX

"They just said, 'Where's the money? Where's the money?'" the clerk, who did not want to be identified, said.

It was just before 2:00 when the robbers barged in to the bodega in the Mount Hope section of the /*Bronx*/.

They took money, cigarettes, phone cards, and then ran. The clerk is still shaken, but he back behind the counter on Wednesday.

"You can't stop living because of that happened," he said.

The NYPD believes these robbers are connected to seven other robberies.

"Shotgun, group of guys come inside the store, take the same type of things," Jose Fernandez, of the bodega federation, said.

Fernandez says his organization is offering 5000 dollars to information that nets any arrests.

These robberies bear the same hallmarks and leave the same sentiments.

"We are very terrified by this wave of robberies," Fernandez said.

The crime spree began on January 7th.
