Fire tears through two homes in Paterson, New Jersey

A three-alarm fire burned through two homes in Paterson Monday morning.

The fire broke out in a house on East 23rd Street in Paterson just before 3 a.m. and quickly spread.

Flames quickly tore through the two homes.

One resident of the building was injured.

Several families were left homeless.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
