Teen arrested in shooting of Verizon worker

Irvington police arrested a 16-year-old and charged him with the robbery and shooting of a Verizon worker on March 28th.

The suspect is not being identified because he's a juvenile.

The teen is accused of robbing and shooting Rasheen Deans of Edison as he worked on a pole in Montrose Terrace.

Witnesses were able to identify the teen as the suspect, and police have been looking for him for the last five days.

They finally caught up to him Tuesday night and arrested him outside a relative's home in Newark without incident.

He's charged with robbery, aggravated assault and weapon possession. He has a criminal history.

The teen is being held at the Essex County Juvenile Facility.
