Bodega owner, son shot during robbery in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN

A bodega owner and the owner's son were shot during a robbery Wednesday night.

/*Miguel Cruz*/, 43, was shot in the chest, while his 18-year-old son was wounded in the hand. The incident was terribly upsetting for family members who rushed to the scene after hearing of the shooting.

Police say the gunman entered the /*Arlene Deli Grocery*/ on Arlington Avenue just after 10 p.m. He demanded money, then fired multiple shots, hitting both the father and son. He then grabbed cash from the register and fled the scene.

Both victims were rushed to /*Brookdale University Hospital*/. Cruz underwent surgery for his gunshot wound. He and his son are expected to survive.
