Local boy waiting for heart transplant dies

Today, we learned little Harrison lost his fight Saturday afternoon at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

A local group called "Hearts for Harrison" is raising money to help the family cope with the medical bills. Organizers are heartbroken about the news, but the group says the family needs your help more than ever.

Harrison was in the ICU at the University of Michigan for six weeks. His mother, Kristin, had been staying at a hotel every night just to be close to her son.

Mindi Marshall is one of the organizers of Hearts for Harrison. The group is holding a fundraiser at Interstate Lanes on April 30 from 12 to 4 p.m.

Superman and Wonder Woman will be there for the kids. There will also be bumper bowling, prizes and a raffle.

Hearts for Harrison is selling t-shirts. If you would like one, you can email your orders to heartsforharrison@gmail.com.

You can also help Harrison's family by logging onto Facebook. Taylor Hyundai and Taylor Kia will donate a dollar for every person who "Likes" the Hearts for Harrison Facebook page.
