A sanitation worker arrested for driving drunk on the job could end up costing New York City taxpayers.

Two people were hurt when their car was hit by the sanitation worker's truck in Brooklyn.

They have now hired a lawyer and are pursuing a lawsuit against the city.

Both men suffered serious injuries in the crash Tuesday and remain hospitalized.

Police suspect the driver turned into oncoming traffic on his way to unload the truck.
