Cab driver who called 911 given reward

The veteran cab driver heralded as a hero for stopping the vicious beating of a man in the Bronx has been given a $500 reward.

Angel Ruiz, 48, called 911 after he saw a couple pummeling a 61-year-old man on East 138th Street in Mott Haven on Saturday.

Officers arrested Kendall Major, 35, and Tosheba Alford, 20, from Queens at the scene.

Both are charged with murder.

The victim later died.

Ruiz has donated his reward to the victim's family.
