    Shauntee Burns, who serves as the outreach specialist for HomeworkNYC and Office of Education, Programming and Exhibitions, provides insightful content pertaining to a variety of educational topics that would benefit teachers, parents and students.

    The page features content for librarians, parents, teachers and students. It includes links to use HomeworkNYC apps , which can provide students help with research and homework support.

  • Homework Resources from the NYC Department of Education
    This page contains links to a diverse number of academic resources.

  • New York Times Learning Network
    The site creates an engaging spin on the daily headlines for children 13 and older by breaking down current news topics into interactive chunks that are easy for young readers to digest. It also has grammer and news quizzes.

  • Education Resources Information Center (ERIC)
    Run through the U.S. Department of Education, ERIC is an online digital library of education research and information that can serve as a wonderful homework tool for students.

  • Internet Public Library
    The site contains "Kidspace" and "Teenspace" pages both of which include a lengthy list of academic resources (Kidspace, 92; Teenspace, 232). The IPL is a public service organization and learning/teaching environment, that is run a consortium of colleges and universities, one of which is Rutgers University.

  • EDinformatics K-12 State Testing Resources
    The site provides links to sample tests for standardized state exams across the country -- including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

NEW YORK-SPECIFIC RESOURCES

  • New York State Education Department
    Official site of the department. It has several quick links where students and parents can access information about topics such as testing, disability services and school report cards.

  • Dial-A-Teacher
    The page provides basic information on the program, which is founded through the NYC City Council. From 4 to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, NYC area students can call (212) 777-3380 for academic area.

  • Regents Review 2.0
    The site contains video clips that cover material that can be on the NY State Regents Exams. It also lists upcoming test dates and other important calendar information.

  • NY Office of Assessment Policy, Development and Administration (APDA)
    This page contains PDFs of NY State Regents Exams and their scoring keys from previous years to help students prepare.

  • New York State for Kids
    The site provides state facts and history snippets in a fun an interactive way for young students.


NEW JERSEY-SPECIFIC RESOURCES

  • New Jersey Department of Education
    Official site of the department. It includes a section called "School Report Card," where parents can see how their school ranked in vital categories such as school environment, student performance indicators and district finances in the previous academic year.

  • New Jersey History Kids
    This interactive site, which is geared for students K-4, tells the history of The Garden State through a series of videos, actvities and other academic-based interactions.

    This page contains multiple links and resources to provide aid through every phase of the parenting process.


CONNECTICUT-SPECIFIC RESOURCES

  • CAPT Data Interaction
    This is the official site for the Connecticut Academic Performance Test. It contains reports on performance results at the school, district and state levels.

    This page provides information for both parents and educators about the CMT.

  • Connecticut State Department of Education
    Official site of the department, the site provides the latest related news and a number of quick links.

  • ConneCT Kids
    Run by the state government, the site turns learning about the history and facts of Connecticut into a fun discovery with puzzles and games.

  • CT Parenting
    Run by the Connecticut Department of Children & Families, the site contains resources and advice for parents and caregivers of any experience level to handle any situation.
