Authorities say /*Alfonette Scarder*/ was stabbed several times inside her second-floor apartment on St. Paul's Place in /*Flatbush*/ just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Her 26-year-old son was arrested at the scene and charges are pending.
He appears to suffer from bipolar disorder.
It was the second son to kill his mother in /*Brooklyn*/ in two days. On Wednesday, a 23-year-old Brooklyn man was charged with bludgeoning his 45-year-old with a brick in their /*Brownsville*/ apartment.
