'Law & Order' ring tone leads to NJ home invasion arrest

PATERSON

Police say two masked men wielding a gun burst into a /*Paterson*/ family's home and demanded drugs and money on Wednesday.

Carolyn Joe told The Record newspaper it appeared the men picked the wrong house because they kept asking for her son, who had moved to Georgia a long time ago.

Joe says the men left after ransacking a bedroom and taking her daughter's cell phone with the distinctive ring tone.

Police dialed the number as they approached the suspect and it rang with the TV show's theme.

/*Michael Richardson*/ is charged with aggravated assault, robbery and weapons offenses.
