Hundreds attended an FBI/Muslim youth conference at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn on Saturday.
Organizers say they want to establish a sincere and transparent relationship between the young Muslims and law enforcement.
"We're trying to make them understand what it is that [the FBI and law enforcement] do, not just coming and arresting people," said organizer Mohammed Razvi.
More than 500 young Muslims attended the event from schools in all 5 boroughs.
Timothy Flannelly from the FBI said, "They too have career and future opportunities, not only in government and public service, but law enforcement too if they choose."
