Man beaten with dumbbell during alleged robbery

A Rockland County man was allegedly beaten with a dumbbell.

Police in West Haverstraw are searching for the suspects who viciously beat a man during a robbery.

Investigators say they repeatedly hit the victim with a 35 pound dumbbell.

Police now hoping surveillance video will provide them with some critical clues. The incident took place Friday night in a trailer in the West Haverstraw business park. The trailer served as home base for a moving company called . The victim is the co-owner of the company. The two suspects were caught on several surveillance cameras in the business park.

The victim said the suspects wore masks, gloves, and brought their own duct tape.

Peter Kang is a 35-year-old father of two children, and says the suspects used the dumbbell that was in the trailer to beat him on his head, face and neck.

Kang somehow fought off the attackers. "I remember thinking I was going to blackout...I just wanted to get out of this situation," he said.

Kang's company is offering a $5,000 reward for any information on the attack.
