The non-profit playground building group /*KaBOOM!*/ led the effort sponsored by Disney to restore the /*103rd Street Community Garden*/ between Park and Lexington Avenues in /*East Harlem*/.
The renovations include not only the Disney-themed Junior playground built in a day, but also a garden, a basketball court and a movie screen coming later this year.
The construction was based on drawings from children in the neighborhood who attended a Design Day earlier this year.
The event, which began early in the morning, ended with a ribbon cutting for the new playground this afternoon.
The makeover of the 103rd Street Community Garden is part of the /*New York Restoration Project*/.
