Thousands without power after Thursday's storms

NEW YORK

Connecticut is suffering the brunt of it, with more than 50,000 in the dark, statewide. That's down from around 100,000 customers at the peak of the outages.

There are more than 1,700 without power in Westchester, nearly 5,500 in Dutchess County and more than 3,300 in Putnam County.

/*LIPA*/ reports 650 customers without power, while New Jersey has roughly 1,000.
