NYC man pleads not guilty in granny's death

NEW YORK

Larry Davis is being held without bail. His lawyer was not present at his hearing Wednesday. Prosecutors say the body of Cora Davis was found in her closet by another family member in March.

The 22-year-old Davis says in handwritten statements that he dragged the dead woman to the closet and then partied with friends for a night in her apartment and had sex in her bed. He says he fled when other family came looking for Cora Davis.

Prosecutors say Davis also pleaded not guilty to a Brooklyn murder charge in the strangling death of Robert McCoy, a transvestite, apparently during a sexual encounter.
