Deliberations start in fatal Deutsche Bank fire trial

NEW YORK

The August 2007 fire at the former /*Deutsche Bank*/ building killed two firefighters. It also spotlighted poor oversight of the building. It was being taken down after being damaged and contaminated on 9/11. Jurors got the case Thursday.

Three supervisors and the /*John Galt Corp*/. are charged in the case. Prosecutors say the supervisors turned a blind eye to a break in an essential firefighting water pipe. Defense lawyers say the men didn't realize the pipe's significance and are being scapegoated for government and company mistakes.

One supervisor and the company elected to have a judge decide their cases, which continue next week.
