Cast of Expedition Impossible has area appeal

NEW YORK Three of the 13 teams who will be racing across deserts, over mountains and through rivers in order to complete a series of high-stakes missions are from the Greater New York City area. Their motivation? Crossing the finish line first claiming $150,000 and three new Ford Explorers.

One of the groups, known as "Latin Persuasion," is composed of Dasia Imperiale, a 44-year-old NYC fitness instructor; Raven Garcia, a 30-year-old freelance writer from the Bronx, and Mai Reyes, a 38-year-old manager from the city.

Then there's "Mom's Army," with 52-year-old bookkeeper Ellie Vanderbeck from Reading Pa. and her two daughters, 28-year-old realtor Ruthie Vanderbeck from Reading, Pa., and Abbie Vanderbeck, a 30-year-old nanny, who resides in Norwalk, Conn.

Finishing the trio of hopefuls is "NY Firemen," consisting of three local firefighters: Kevin Coursey, a 39-year-old from Belle Harbor, N.Y.; Rob Keiley and Mike Egan. Both Keiley and Egan are 34 and live in Rockaway Park, N.Y.

Each week a new stage of the expedition will be revealed. The high intensity and athleticism involved in this competition could make teams crumble under the pressure. Will one of the local teams end up on top? Tune in every Thursday at 9 p.m. to find out!
