Disadvantaged kids kick off Fresh Air Fund summer

NEW YORK

Dozens of children, ages 6 to 18, came to the Port Authority Wednesday to get buses to take them to free two-week vacations with volunteer host families.

The kids said goodbye to their parents before heading to the suburbs and small towns.

Volunteers from the Walt Disney company, the parent company of WABC-TV, gave out books and other gifts.

They also played games with the children as they waited for their buses.
