Investigators have determined the cause of a Bronx house fire that critically injured two people.

Fire fighters responded to a fire at 2120 Lafayette Avenue in the Castle Hill neighborhood, about 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Crews rescued two people from the second floor.

They were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The FDNY says the fire was caused by an electrical problem.

They say the home had fire detectors installed but they did not have batteries in them.
