The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says the worst air will come on Friday when the state gets the hottest part of a heat wave.
A forecast of "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups," or Code Orange, has been issued due to high concentrations of ground-level ozone for Thursday and officials say the air could be classified as "Unhealthy," or Code Red, by Friday.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy also issued a dangerous heat warning Wednesday.
