Rally for same-sex marriage in NJ

HOBOKEN, N.J.

The group /*Garden State Equality*/ held at rally at /*Pier A Park*/ in /*Hoboken*/ on Sunday.

Same-sex couples were joined by local leaders who all called for marriage equality across the state.

"As we look across the river and congratulate our friends in New York who are getting married today, I say to all of you today, it's time for New Jersey to continue its very proud legacy of civil rights," Hoboken Mayor /*Dawn Zimmer*/ said.

/*New Jersey*/ currently offers civil unions.

Last month, advocates filed a lawsuit against the state asking for marriage equality which they say is guaranteed in the NJ state constitution.
